Great Kitchen – Ceramics Exhibition 2026

Over 65 local makers are featured at this curated selection of ceramics hosted in the beautiful Great Kitchen, Bishop’s Palace next to Chichester Cathedral. In excess of 700 individual and unique pieces of work will be exhibited and available for you to purchase on the day.

Also a rare opportunity to view the magnificent medieval hammerbeam roof structure of the Great Kitchen.

This exhibition goes from strength to strength and is a significant event in Chichester’s cultural calendar.

Please follow the signs and visit our exhibition where our stewards (who are all local potters) will be pleased to talk about their work and guide you around the displays.

Jo specialises in wheel-thrown porcelain (https://www.jo-davies.com). Her practice includes hand-making her fine porcelain design range of vases, vessels, lighting and unique objects. Jo’s work creates a balance of simplicity and surprise, making shapes that appear soft and inviting to touch.

£25 for SCG members and PACS Potters members and £35 for guests.  This includes costs for materials for the workshop (clay, black underglaze, etc).The day will be from 11am-3.30pm (approx), arrival from 10:30 am onwards.

Jo will talk about her own practice and demonstrate how she throws some of her signature porcelain pieces. The demonstration will be followed by lunch. After lunch Jo will lead a workshop where participants will have an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with porcelain.

Lunch will be our famous sharing buffet (please bring crockery and cutlery to save washing up!) – please bring a contribution with a description of the dish clearly labelled for those with allergies or diet sensitivities – but please STRICTLY NO nuts of any type please, to avoid any nut allergy issues.

Tea, coffee, biscuits will be provided.

There will be a raffle for an item of Jo’s work during the demonstration/workshop.
