DESCRIPTION:Great Kitchen – Ceramics Exhibition 2026\nSouthern Ceramic Group\nSat 25 July to Sun 9 Aug 2026\n \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Over 65 local makers are featured at this curated selection of ceramics hosted in the beautiful Great Kitchen\, Bishop’s Palace next to Chichester Cathedral. In excess of 700 individual and unique pieces of work will be exhibited and available for you to purchase on the day. \nAlso a rare opportunity to view the magnificent medieval hammerbeam roof structure of the Great Kitchen. \nThis exhibition goes from strength to strength and is a significant event in Chichester’s cultural calendar. \nPlease follow the signs and visit our exhibition where our stewards (who are all local potters) will be pleased to talk about their work and guide you around the displays.

SUMMARY:Demonstration - Jo Davies
DESCRIPTION:Jo Davies is a ceramic artist specialising in wheel-thrown porcelain. Her practice includes hand-making her fine porcelain design range of vases\, vessels\, lighting and unique objects as well as working with brands like Union Coffee and Mulberry as a named-designer alongside specialist tutoring for ceramics. \nCreating a balance of simplicity and surprise is essential to Jo Davies’ ceramics – forming connections between object and audience by making shapes that appear soft and inviting to touch. Every piece is hand made by Jo on the potter’s wheel and is a reflection of her design intentions as well as the shape of her hands and those that will use it. In recent years\, her signature black and white glazes have been developed to include shades of red\, gold-leaf and cobalt blue surface design elements but shape and form continue to be the most important factors in her work. \nDetails of the demonstration/workshop to follow nearer the date! \n \nPlease see https://www.jo-davies.com/ for more details about Jo.
