Alec Roberts

Alec Roberts is a potter living in Southsea.

He has been seriously working in clay for 12 years . 

His work is all functional and influenced by Asian style and forms. He has visited Japan twice and recently returned from South Korea ( April/May 2025) where he attended an intensive course led by a nationally acclaimed master .

Alec mainly works in stoneware. His beakers, bowls, vases , plates and jugs are made in muted and organic colours ; often splashed or patterned to emphasise the texture of the clay.

He regularly exhibits in the Great Kitchen exhibition, the Portsmouth Open Studio week and the Emsworth Art Trail.
