2:00pm
Porchester Community Centre
We are delighted to advise that our next in-person presentation and demonstration in the autumn will be the amazing Gareth Mason.
Originally planned to happen before the pandemic, this event has had to be postponed several times, partly due to Covid but also due to some unfortunate events including Gareth breaking a bone in his left hand!
He is now fit and well and eager to meet you all and demonstrate his relaxed yet exciting approach to working with clay.
Gareth specialises in dramatic pots and exhibits in solo and group exhibitions internationally. He is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association and Brother of the Art Workers Guild, London. He lives and works in Hampshire and residences have included China and USA.
Starting at 230pm we are aiming to have an American buffet style tea around 4:30/5pm and would love for you to please bring a contribution to the meal so that we can all share some tasty food! Please email me in the first instance (as below) to book your place and your proposed food contribution so that we don’t end up with too many of one thing! I’ll then confirm and pass on payment details.
This event is promising to be a wonderful demonstration, learning opportunity and also ‘proper’ social get together as we being the meal element back to these events. Always a highlight!
Tickets will be £22.50 for members, or £25 for guests. Book and pay via this link Gareth Mason demonstration
In the meantime, and to whet your (clay) appetite, work can be found to view on Instagram (@mudfondler), at Jason Jacques Gallery (www.jasonjacques.com/exhibitions or www.jasonjacques.com/artists/garethmason) or www.garethmason.net. There are also a lot of images of Gareth’s work on the net.”
He was also featured in a blog about his work that you may wish to read –

I do hope you can join us!
