SCG 50th Anniversary Book
As part of our 50th birthday celebrations we are producing a limited edition book of current work by our members. In order to be eligible you must be a paid up member of SCG and you must submit a piece of work to be professionally photographed for inclusion in the book.
The book will be approx A5 sized and will include at least 60 member’s work (60 is the minimum number that we need to make this viable).
The fee is £20 and includes professional photography and one complimentary copy of the book
Photo of You
This could be a photo of you at work or a head and shoulders image. The portrait must be a Jpeg with resolution 800 x 600 pixels.
Text accompanying the photo
This should be written in the 3rd person and should be a brief description of the work photographed, including materials, firing and dimensions. You may wish to include information about you as an artist; your inspiration; methods of working or anything else that you feel is relevant. 120 words max.
We may need to edit your text to try to keep a consistent style for the book.
Reference Photo of Your Submission
This won’t be printed in the book and is purely so that we can identify your work.
Quote for the Book
When did you join SCG, why did you decide to join and what have you gained from being a member. 80-100 words. We may use quotes within the book.
Deadlines
- Final call for book inclusion by 1 Sept 2025, payment via the form below and upload your brief description about your work
- Deliver work to Art Space Portsmouth 27 Brougham Rd, Southsea PO52PA Mon 22 Sept- Fri 26 Sept between 10.00 and 5pm or Sun 28-Tue 30 Sept 10.00-5.00
- By 21 Sept upload a reference photo of your pot with dimensions. All pots need to be labelled with your membership number. Please also provide a portrait of yourself so we can include a ‘thumbnail’ image in the book next to your description.

All work needs to be insured by yourself and SCG cannot take responsibility for damaged work.
