New Members Gallery Entry Form

All members are invoted to have an entry included in our online Members Gallery.  This has a top level “directory” page which lists each member with an entry and a single image of their work, such as shown below.  

When someone clicks on the name or picture, this then brings up a detailed entry including up to 12 images of your work, and a contact form which allows a viewer to send an e-mail to you, without exposing your e-mail address.  An example is shown below.

Any information provided in the form below will be placed in the public domain in the gallery area of the Southern Ceramic Group website. You do not need to include all information, and blank sections will be removed.

Please do not include any information that you do not wish to be freely available in the public domain.

If you provide a contact e-mail address, this will be protected and obscured by the use of a contact form, so that it is not visible. This should help to prevent e-mail addresses being used by the spamming and phishing community!

Gallery Images

You may submit up to 12 images for inclusion on the gallery.

The ideal size for these images is 1080 pixels wide (height dimension can be variable). However, our website can accomodate most image sizes if you cannot adjust this yourself.

All images must be in a JPEG format, with a “.jpg” file name.  If image file are in another format then please convert them, using a friend or relative to help if needed.  There are many online tools to do this (e.g. https://www.freeconvert.com/jpg-converter).

Please name the image files as follows before uploading them:-

yourname_1.jpg, yourname_2.jpg, ourname_3.jpg, etc., etc.

e.g. joebloggs_1.jpg, joebloggs_2.jpg

If you do not use this naming convention, then we may find not be able to find your images on our web server!

One image will be the featured image which shows on the members Gallery directory page (which will show one image per member). Your preferred “featured image” will be the first image file submitted, i.e.

yourname_1.jpg.

If possible this featured image should be an image with an aspect ratio is 4:3, (e.g. size 1080 x 810 pixels).  This is becuase all images are automatically cropped to fit a standard space, and it it is another aspect ratio our web software may arbitrarily crop off part of the picture in a way that you do not like!

You are also invited to include an image of yourself, to be included above your artist statement. Some website viewers are interested to see the artist being described, as well as their work. This is entirely voluntary, so only please supply an image only if you are comfortable with this being included on a public website.  Please name this image file as:-

Maximum 500 words. A statement about yourself and your pottery/ceramics. e.g. Thrown and reduction-fired stoneware is my preferred medium, though I do occasionally make raku pots. My focus is on functional forms – vases, bowls, jugs, jars, dishes. Depending on the piece I may use white stoneware, a darker stoneware or even porcelain for the body. I have experimented with decoration by pouring, brushing, spraying, sgraffito, rope rolling, faceting and fluting. I also enjoy making different glazes and seeing how they turn out.

Contact Email
This is required, but will NOT be shown openly on the website. A contact form will be created which sends a message to your e-mail address without your e-mail address being shown. This will avoid scammers "scraping" your e-mail details off our website. You will be asked to enter your e-mail address twice, to make sure that it is correct.
