The intuitive process that working with clay provides is a constant source of discovery for me. Observation of life and the world around us is an ongoing source of inspiration. I like to experiment and push the boundaries of clay as a medium, combining thrown, sculptural and hand-build techniques.
The aesthetics of clay means that it it is the perfect canvas for the expression of the felt sense, allowing the evolution of a piece of work to come out of the responses to, and of, the clay.
I enjoy sharing a creative space with others, whether this be in a joint project or teaching workshops. The sum total of a groups energy and creative process is far greater than the total of the individual parts, and hence a joy to be part of.
