Diana Wren
After taking early retirement I pursued a hitherto unrealised passion by taking an Access to Art and Design course. My initial interest had been painting, but I soon discovered the excitement of working in 3D. I moved to Hampshire twenty years ago and have since then been working mainly in ceramics. I am a sculptor first and foremost, but also make ceramic tiles and quirky domestic ware. Twentieth century artists such as Matisse and Picasso have influenced me – and I have a taste for the Gothic. I have recently been researching Mexican pottery. I love colour and enjoy experimenting with glazes and oxides to produce exciting finishes for my work.
