As a child I loved all types of crafts, particularly pottery and finally rekindled the hobby on retiring from a 50 year career as a nurse and midwife.

I work in earthenware and particularly enjoy making items that resemble the original such as fruit. I like the challenge of getting the colours as near as possible to the organic original. I’ve had some strange looks when taking photos of fruit and vegetables in supermarkets!

I started the hobby 3 years ago with a couple of lessons on the wheel, but prefer hand building. I have enough bowls, jugs and vases!
When tackling a new project, I’m quite nervous, but it’s so satisfying and fulfilling when the shape suddenly emerges from the lump of mud.
I’m learning all the time and honing my skills!
