Linda Kelsall-Barnett

I rediscovered my love of making animal sculptures when I recently signed up for pottery classes with Sandra Bidmead in Lavant, near Chichester. My childhood was full of artistic endeavours, inspired by my mother, and I studied Art to A level. I then made the decision to follow a musical career as a classical guitarist and teacher. I now manage to combine my busy musical life with working on ceramic sculptures of animals using white stoneware clay, with a particular interest in horses. I like to draw from life and study photographs prior to making my pieces, often using my own animals as models and I have begun to create animal portraits. I enjoy making functional pieces and I am always striving to create movement within my work.
