I graduated in Visual studies (Fine Art) at Portsmouth University 1996, returning to Ceramics in 2021 full time after finding a course at Farnham Pottery. Previously concentrating on drawing and painting, I found the transition from 2D to 3D inspiring loving the ability to create something on so many planes.
Holding an interest in structure and organic form, I’m inspired by the style of Art Nouveau and Japanese Prints. I use line, whiplash swirls and texture in my Sculpture to create movement & dexterity, along with some cheeky characterisation which makes us smile.
My work articulates themes of flora, fauna, oceanic & its form, strength & heart within the natural world we live in, A natural source that we deeply need to protect.
