Melanie Ditschun

I started pottery in ‘Slow Hands’ studio in Chiang Mai Thailand, learning wheel throwing and reduction firing techniques. Once I returned to England, I set up my home studio in the Surrey Hills. My current kiln is electric, but I eventually want to get a reduction kiln too so I can continue the firing methods I learned in Thailand. My passions are for carving and using water imagery in my creations. I’ve long been on a quest to create the perfect ‘octopot’ (see featured image!) and am also working on a line of ceramics based around water lillies as seen from the sea bed.
