Alternative Firings Event

This event will include a variety of different firing techniques, including:-

• Raku with glaze
• Naked raku
• Obvara
• Smoke Firing
• Bonfire Firing

We might also do a pit or barrel firing but this is not yet confirmed.  All firing techniques may be subject to change, dependant upon availability of demonstration staff, etc.

Each participant will be able to fire up to five pieces depending on size and local factors. However, if you are a confirmed participant it would be better to make more than five pieces and bring them along – just in case!

The location will be near Alton – full details of the location and confirmation of timings for the event will be released nearer the date of the event.

Detailed instructions on making and burnishing (and on what to wear and not to wear) will be sent prior to the event.

There are a limited number of places available.  If all the places have already been booked, then there will be an option to request a reserve place, in case of places becoming available due to cancellations.

Payments will be taken at time of completing the registration form via an online card payment. Refunds will only be provided for cancellations more than 4 weeks ahead of the event date.  This will ensure that any reserves that are offered places have sufficient time to make work prior to the event.

Price – £60.00 for members, £80.00 for non-members.
